The hotel bed was very comfortable – I woke at 5:30 – a touch later than my normal time of waking – although I had two beers the previous night, and that’s a lot for me on a school night.

I spent about an hour in the lounge at Brussels Airport - it’s an ok lounge but there’s nothing much going on - the views aren’t that great and the food/drink isn’t that good either.

Well just days to go now, and I’m getting prepared for my long trip. Itinerary has been printed; flight bookings printed; hotel bookings printed; maps to get me across London, and across NYC printed; and I’ve got my ESTA, Global Entry and travel insurance details printed as well.

Shouldn’t be scary this one - I’ve done overseas trips on my own before (well once), and I’ve worn the t-shirt, and watched the video, and read the book etc. No big deal.
