Slept well considering the jet lag. Planning to head to the Joshua Tree National Park this morning. Another fine breakfast at the HGI - always gets us off to a good start.

Arrived into LAX at a touch before midnight - some right funny buggers on the flight. People who clearly don’t rate United for food. One guy brought a pizza on board, one had a pot of pineapple chunks.

Surprise, surprise we woke early after two fire alarms in the night. Bit of a convoluted trip into the city via the hotel shuttle, the AirTrain and the Metro.

Gill dropped us off at Manchester Airport about an hour ago, and we are now settled in the lounge at Terminal 1 waiting for our flight. It’s nice and quiet here. Will add more to this post during the day.

Sadly on 1 July we arrive in Seattle and we drop the car off. We will stay for 1 night here. I wasn’t that impressed with Seattle last time, but I’ll give it a whirl again. We may even try to get into Pike Place Starbucks.
